Happy Monday, everybody! I pray that everybody is doing well and are ready for the week ahead. My parents are coming to visit next weekend so I am super excited! I apologize for not posting last week- I didn’t really have much to share and didn’t feel the urge to share like I normally do so I didn’t want to force it. I do have a couple of things from the week before last that I’ll share before I get into this week’s weekly recap.
We went to our farmer’s market on Thursday, and it did not disappoint! I love that our small town puts on such a fun and festive farmer’s market. If you haven’t tried the Georgia peaches from the Peach Truck, you are missing out!! They are incredible. We also picked up homemade bread, stuffed cookies for this weekend, eggs, strawberries, a tomato, zucchini, and homemade tortilla chips. Every single thing we got was absolutely delicious! We also went into the little shop at the park where the farmer’s market is held and bought a few things for my sister because her birthday is coming up. They had so many cute things from local artists.
I have really been getting into buying anything I can from local and/or small businesses. Don’t get me wrong, I still order form Amazon but if I can, I find a small business on Etsy or Instagram and order from them instead. I have a few weddings, bridal showers, and bachelorette parties coming up so I’ve ordered a lot of gifts from Etsy lately. I’ll share once they all come in!

My aunt, uncle, and cousin came for the weekend, and we had such a great time. On Saturday, they came to our house for breakfast and then we went to my brother and sister in law’s house for the day. We sat outside, ate tons of food, and spent the day catching up. On Sunday, we met at my other brother and sister in law’s house and pretty much did the same thing! It was my favorite kind of weekend.
Chance and I headed out for our walk on Monday morning and then I had a slice of bread with butter, a peach, and my vitamins for breakfast.
I went to Kroger on my lunch break and picked up our groceries for the week.
After I finished working, I headed to the gym! This week, I felt the overwhelming urge to go back to the gym and it felt so good! My work out plans come in waves. Sometimes I love going to gym, sometimes I love at home work outs, and sometimes I just love super long walks. I’m in a gym wave right now! I love taking my Hyrdrojug to the gym because as you can see in the picture, it can hold everything (I forgot my lock for a locker) and there is a pocket for my phone. The sleeve is also easy to throw in the washer, and it’s pretty durable since I am constantly picking it up and putting it on the floor. Code Miriamleigh10 saves you 10% 🙂

When I got home, I had half of a core power protein shake before jumping in the shower. I am still loving these protein shakes. They’re so tasty and convenient. I just order them on Amazon because I can’t ever find them in bulk at my Kroger.

We then settled on the couch to have sushi for dinner and watch Parks and Rec! This is definetly one of my all time favorite shows. I am so glad it’s on Peacock now.

On Tuesday, I made some bread and butter and ate it before heading to the office.

I am still loving this tea as my afternoon pick me up! IT finally got our computer up and running so it was a much better day at the office than it has been the last couple of weeks. I am also still loving having my own office. My coworkers are great people, but there is something super awesome about having my own space.

Chance and I headed out on a 1 mile run when I got home, and holy moly was it hot! I love it and it makes me feel like I’m dying all at the same time haha

I had the other half of my core power from last night and got cleaned up because I was DRENCHED after that run. Chance and I need to get back to driving to our park to run because the hills in my neighborhood are killer.
After my shower, I dermaplaned my face, applied this facemask, and then settled down with these eye masks. I am going to share a little bit about how I dermaplane my face but please remember, I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL. This is just what works for me. After I wash my face, I use these razors to shave my face. I always make sure my face is wet the whole time- it helps the tools glide a bit smoother on my skin. I like these razors from Amazon. Pulling my skin taught and going slow helps me from nicking myself as well. There are a lot of videos on YouTube too but please be careful and if you feel uncomfortable, either don’t do it or go to a professional. The first couple of times I did it myself, my skin broke out afterwards. Ever since I started using the Aztec Secret face mask afterwards, I haven’t been breaking out after anymore. I like to mix the clay powder with apple cider vinegar instead of water. If you try the mask, you should try it on your face at a time when you’re not dermaplaning so you can make sure your skin tolerates it. I think it’s pretty gentle, but that’s just me! After the clay mask, I applied The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid and Summer Friday’s Gel Cream.
I am absolutely obsessed with this color combo! The eucalyptus smells so good, and I love the baby’s breathe and pink hydrangeas with it. Has anybody ever tried hanging dried eucalyptus in the shower? I’ve heard of people doing it and thought I would try it when I am done with this bouquet.

I have found my new favorite breakfast! A slice of sourdough bread, an egg, and half of an avocado. It is so delicious and filling. Bacon would also be great on it 🙂
Please excuse all the weeds, but look at my wildflowers grow! I plan on pulling weeds sometime this week, but I am so excited about all the wildflowers growing. If you want beautiful, inexpensive, low maintenance flowers, get a wildflower packet!

After work, I headed to the gym for another leg day. I focused on glutes this time. I have terrible cubital tunnel syndrome right now in my right arm so I can’t do arm day for a while which is a huge bummer. I have had carpal tunnel multiple times in the past, but I have never had the pain all the way up to my elbow before. I have been doing these exercises which have helped a ton. I am going to keep doing them even when it feels better since I sit on a computer all day.

I did this work out from @justusleaguefit‘s Instagram! I love her work outs so much, and my glutes were on fire afterwards.

Why am I so bad at taking these!? I used to take my greens religiously every morning, and then I got out of the habit when we moved. I just need to set them out and take them first thing every morning. I have seen awesome results skin and hair wise from other women who take the collagen so I need to be better about taking it, too.

I make crockpot pork chops and potatoes for dinner, and wow it was delicious! I’ll link the recipe I used here. I pan seared the pork chops before I put them in the crockpot, and I added extra ranch mix.
Not to brag, but I remembered my greens, collagen, and vitamins this morning! haha

I made the same breakfast this morning, and it was just as delicious.
My brother and sister in law went out of town for the weekend, so we kept Flowby for the weekend! Chance loves him so much, and they had such a great time.

We made BLTs for dinner, and they were so good! I love BLTs in the summertime- it just feels right.

We went on a walk Friday morning, and it was so funny watching them walk together. They kept getting tangled up and switching places.
After work, we made Chinese food and watched Awake on Netlfix. It was so good!! I love Gina Rodriquez, and she did not disappoint in this movie.

After dinner, we threw Chance a little birthday party because he turned FIVE today!!! I just can’t believe it. We got him when he was 8 months old. It’s crazy how fast time flies by. I ordered the cake, bandana, and his toys from Chewy, and the birthday hats from Amazon. They were not fans of the hats but tolerated them for me because they good bois.

On Saturday, I got some chores done and then took the pups on a 3 mile walk. It felt so good! We were drenched when we came home (me from sweat, them from the creek). Walking is definitely one of my favorite ways to exercise. You can burn a ton of calories and build muscle.

I got more chores done, put in some hours at my part time job, and Kyle got lots of studying done and then we went on a date night to our favorite Mexican restaurant. The fajita taco salad did not disappoint!
On Sunday, we were up early to go on a walk before it got even more humid. We’ve been having little pop up showers so the humidity is THICK! I then made my breakfast and threw in some bacon as well.

I’ve been using this weekly planner to plan our dinners each week, and it has helped me so much with staying on track and not eating out all the time. It takes the stress out of deciding what we’re going to make plus it’s a magnet so it hands right on our fridge! I found this one in the Target bargain bins years ago, but this one from Amazon is super cute too. You can probably find one at Target, Dollar General, Big Lots, etc. I like to write what we’re going to have and then I list all the things I’ll need from the store. Then I add those things to our grocery list on my phone. We use the notes app because it allows me to share the list with Kyle, and we can both add things to it when we think of them.
Also peep the little note that Jaycey left us probably forever ago 😀
