Spring Time: Vacation, flowers, and hauls!

Hey everybody! I took a little time off because work and life has been just so busy this past month. I’m so sorry for that, but I’m so glad I’m back! I have lots to share so buckle up- it’s going to be a random recap post.

Flower season is officially in full BLOOM! I decided to make all my own potted and hanging flowers this year, and it was actually super fun. I bought all my flowers at Home Depot. Most of the pots are recycled from years past, the white pots are from Home Depot, and the hanging baskets are from the dollar store. I am going to clean them out and get new inserts so I can reuse them every year. We put together the white pots with the purple flowers for our neighbors for a little spring time gift.

For Mother’s Day this year, I went to TJ Maxx and bought all of these goodies and the boxes for our moms. It was so fun to put these gifts together, and they both said they loved opening them. I’m going to do things like this more often when I need gifts for people and can’t think of one big thing!

I also found this cute container for Chance’s dog food at TJ Maxx as well so I obviously had to pick it up.

For Easter, we spent time with my brother’s in laws, and it was such a great day. Side note, it’s not a secret that I do not enjoy cooking or baking nor am I any good at. I used to feel like I had to make something whenever I was invited somewhere, and I would stress out about it to the max. It was so silly! So this year, I’ve decided to stop doing that and bring something different. I decided to bring flowers this time, and Cassie’s mom loved them! Other ideas are wine, beer, or food from the store. I just wanted to include that for those like me who don’t enjoy cooking.

Chance and I are still enjoying our evening runs, and I love seeing our mileage get back up again! We are still not ready to run all the hills, but we’re definitely getting better.

Chance and I are also getting back into our long walks in the hot sun in the afternoons, and we love it! Walking is seriously my favorite work out, and the hills in our neighborhood gives it a little boost. Also, I ordered these sandals from Adidas, and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! They are so comfy and supportive. They’re a little roomy because they’re made to fit people with wider feet as well, and they run a little big just FYI.

I have been feeling a little unmotivated and uninspired when it comes to lifting lately. I was doing the same work outs all the time and felt like I needed some guidance. So I decided to subscribe to Lift with Laura and start her work out program! I have followed her in Instagram for a while and have been wanting to try it for a while so I decided to just do it. For $7.99, I get an at home and gym workout to choose from every day, and she has instructional videos on every single work out which is so helpful. I am learning so much and am doing work outs I didn’t even know existed! I highly recommend her program because she’s super knowledgeable, writes every single work out strategically, and you can’t beat the price. If you wanna check it out, click here or visit her Instagram.

MY BESTIE IS GETTING MARRIED! Jaycey got engaged last month, and she gets married in November! I am so excited for her. P.S. How cute is this box she sent me!?

Work has been going really well, but we have been so busy! One of our nurses transferred to a different office so I took a few of the doctors she worked with until we hired her replacement. We’ve hired someone, and she is almost done with orientation so things are almost back to normal. It’s still the best job, and I wouldn’t trade it. But it will be nice to get caught up 🙂 I’ve also picked up a part time job as well so I’ve been pretty busy work wise. My new job is all work from home as well, and it’s a huge blessing for us to help bulk up our savings.

HAVE YOU GUYS WATCHED THE CROWN YET!? It’s so good! It’s none of my business, but I really want to know how much of it is true. It causes me to have a whirlwind of emotions every episode.

I have been loving greenery lately so I picked up a few pieces at Hobby Lobby to add some decor to our room and half bath. It’s a super fun, cheap way to add some character to a place.

Here’s the thing about Kyle always driving whenever we go places, I end up in a dark hole of online shopping haha I have had good results from the Grande Lash Serum I bought a while ago and was running out so I was going to just order that, BUT I wanted to try the mascara conditioner and primer too so here we are. The cheek lift stuff was a freebie so I have no idea what to do with that haha

Tis the season for me spending half of our grocery budget on flowers for the house!!!

I have yet to find a protein powder that I enjoy drinking, but this protein drink is AMAZING! I am definetly going to keep buying them for my lift days and long run days.

I have been wanting this alarm clock for a little while now, and Kyle ordered it for me for Mother’s Day! It is so awesome. I will review it more once I use it for a while, but I love how it gradually wakes me up. It’s so much more enjoyable for sure.

I CAVED! I am finally going to give these razors a shot. I have heard great thing, but I was skeptical. So far, I am loving it! My skin is super soft after I shave, and I love that it magnetically sticks to the shower wall. Those suction cup ones always fall! The price is great, and it’s super convenient for sure.

We had a great mini trip to Florida! The beach was absolutely beautiful and not too busy at all. We went to Destin and stayed in a little Airbnb by the beach.

Shaylynn and her son drove down to us and then we all drove to Florida together. It was a 7 hour drive, and I read the ENTIRE time. This book was wild! It was a quick, easy thriller/mystery which is my favorite.

It rained one of the days we were there so we spent the day walking around the mall. We got chips, queso, and margs, walked around Bass Pro, and then ended at a bookstore. We both picked up a few books and settled in the coffee shop for a while. It was actually a great day, and I’m thankful that I have a husband who makes rainy days in Florida still so wonderful.

I spent 99% of our time at the beach reading, drinking iced coffee, and enjoying the view. This book was really good! It was another easy to read thriller/mystery. Perfect beach read in my opinion!

I picked Jaycey and Jordan up a few little gifts at Hobby Lobby for their engagement, and I think it’s all so cute!

After we got home from Florida, we relaxed for a day, and then packed back up to go to Indiana! I was so happy to go stay with my parents for a few days. I miss them so much!

We spent so much time with family while we were there, and I am so thankful! We were able to spend lots of time with my family, our friends, and Kyle’s family. We also made some time for just the two of us when we went out for drinks at a newish brewery in my hometown.

I really enjoyed getting back into my recap routine, and I hope you guys enjoyed this even though it was all over the place!

Love reading your recaps! I have been using the Billie razor for a while now and love it. Its totally worth the price! Great recap and I love all the photos. I’m a nurse as well and I’m curious what your job is since you work from home? Don’t know if that’s too personal to ask? Havd a great week ❤️

      Thank you SO MUCH!
I am loving the Billie razor so far. It’s definitely living up to the hype!
That’s not too personal at all! I’m a nurse navigator for our cancer center. I do a lot of the behind the scenes work with records and organizing so I’m able to do it at home. 🙂
