Quarantine Week 2: Packing, Work Outs, and Cooking!

Happy TUESDAY everybody! I’m sorry that I’m coming at you a day late. I had all the plans of writing this yesterday but time just got away from me. But here we are so let’s dig in to the recap!

Monday

I had a slow start to my morning but once I got up, I headed to donate plasma before it got super busy.

Reading a book while giving plasma

I had finished Me Before You and was waiting for the second book, After You, to come in the mail. I found this book, The Best Of Me, on our bookshelf and decided to give it a try. I finished it in about two days haha

Grocery shopping cart

After donating plasma, I went to Aldi and Meijer to get our groceries for the week. I get the bulk of our food from Aldi and then the remainder at Meijer. Shopping at Aldi has saved us so much money over the years. There food options are just as good as other places, and I can’t recommend it enough.

Healthy grocery haul

Here is the bulk of what I got!

  • chicken breast- raw and deli
  • steak
  • lean ground beef
  • chicken sausages
  • lettuce
  • brussel sprouts
  • carrots
  • zucchinis
  • strawberries
  • blueberries
  • greek yogurt for Kyle
  • coconutmilk yogurt
  • turkey
  • salads
  • kiwi
  • greens and reds
  • cauliflower crisps
  • cauliflower rice
  • chickpeas
  • almondmilk
  • cold brew coffee
  • books
  • Bangs for Kyle
  • Kava tea

Kyle grilled chicken on the grill, and I baked zucchini and broccoli in the oven.

Kiwi and Kava tea before bed

I had a kiwi with my kava tea before heading to bed. This tea helps me wind down at the end of the day, and I also think it has helped with my headaches! It’s also delicious so win win win 🙂

Tuesday

Devotional with breakfast

I drank my greens and ate a verb bar while doing my devotional this morning. She Reads Truth has a TON of free devotionals on their website, and I have been doing the daily devotional that is on their main page every morning.

Salad, grilled chicken, chickpeas, and pickles

I ate a salad, leftover chicken, chickpeas, and pickles for lunch while applying to jobs and working on blog stuff!

;’./ (Chance wanted to type there) I had an iced coffee while working before heading out for a run.

Pizza and zucchini

Kyle finished ALL of his finals today and aced all of his classes. SO PROUD. I picked up a Honey Pepperoni Pizza with Pretzel Crust from Aldi to celebrate (crazy, I know) and it was AMAZING.

Wednesday

Chance and I headed out for a run and then I worked with my resistance bands for a while. Another band bit the dust in the middle of my work out haha

I grazed for the rest of the morning/afternoon. Blueberry smoothie, salad, turkey, chickpeas, cauliflower crisps, greens, verb bar, and coffee kept me filled until dinner!

Spaghetti squash and brussel sprouts

We had spaghetti squash and brussel sprouts for dinner.

Aztec Healing Clay mask

My face was breaking out a little bit so I put on my favorite mask before heading to bed. This mask works like a charm every time!

Thursday

I did a work out in the garage before heading out on a short walk with Chance.

My meals weren’t very exciting today, but they were yummy! I had a verb bar and a pear with my coffee and leftover spaghetti squash for lunch.

Coffee is definitely getting me through all this packing!! I got my delivery from Coffee Over Cardio today and am so excited! We love the Chocolate Donut flavor already, and I am excited to try the Vanilla Hazelnut this week. My mom and I both love hazelnut so I mainly bought it for us to have next weekend when we move. Use code 10Miriamleigh for 10% off all orders!

Burgers and veggies

Kyle grilled burgers and I baked carrots and zucchini for dinner. I know we have been having a lot of the same kind of meals lately, but I am trying to have more whole and less processed foods in a hopes that it will help with my migraines. I have seen a lot of changes in how I feel already, and I am excited to keep it going.

Friday

All that being said, I woke up today with a headache and didn’t do anything all day.

Saturday

I woke up feeling a lot better today so we headed to Lowe’s!

When we first got Chance, I never dreamed that we would be able to take him into stores with us. Look at him now! All of the training we have done with him has really worked. We picked up a few more boxes and bubble wrap to keep packing. I am amazed at how much stuff we have! We’ve already taken a few loads to Goodwill and definitely have more to go. I love it! And nothing motivates me more than us having to pack everything up haha

We got Chipotle for lunch, and it was amazing!! I had a paleo bowl that had grilled veggies, lettuce, chicken, guac, and pico. I also made a big fruit bowl with blueberries, strawberries, and kiwi.

Steaks and grilled veggies

Kyle grilled steaks and I baked more veggies for dinner! Kyle is the grill master, and everything he grills comes out amazing.

We’ve had this bookcase for a while, and I didn’t want to take it with us to Tennessee so Kyle chopped it up and used it as wood for a bonfire. We spent the evening watching Dark Places on netflix by the fire. Perfect end to a great day!

Sunday

The vanilla hazelnut coffee from Coffee Over Cardio is DELICIOUS. I am absolutely loving their coffee and highly recommend. I had a blueberry almond milk smoothie with my verb bar for breakfast.

We laid around all morning finally watching Tiger King. This show is so insane haha

I completed this at home work out from MadFit, and it is such a good work out! It’s only 20 minutes and really gets my blood pumping. Her YouTube has a ton of great videos that I am going to dig into during this quarantine. Most of them involve little to no equipment.

Chance and I did a 4 mile walk while listening to Crime Junkie! If you’re not on the Crime Junkie wagon yet, HOP ON! It’s the best. It was finally warm and sunny out, and I soaked up as much as I could!

I loved this bowl from Chipotle so much that we ordered it again for lunch! I am going to start getting all these foods at the store so I can just make it myself. I had grilled veggies and turkey slices for a late dinner before settling down for the night. 🙂

Questions for YOU!

  1. Is it getting warmer in you area yet??
  2. What’s the first thing you’re going to do when quarantine is over?
  3. What is one thing you are thankful for that quarantine has given you?
