Seven Things I Do Every Morning!

Hey everybody!

Mornings have always been my favorite time of day, and I have finally started to utilize that time for me again. I now get so excited to wake up early and tackle my day. When I have a good morning, it sets me up for a great day. It’s one of the best feelings in the world. Here are the seven things I do every morning!

Make my bed

Clean bed set up

This may seem like not a big deal, but I have to make my bed every single day. I feel so much more put together, and I love coming home to a clean room. It also helps my brain know that I can’t go back to sleep, and that it’s time to start the day.

Drink my greens

I added greens to my diet a few months ago, and it has helped me with my digestion SO MUCH. I have less bloating and constipation, and it’s just good to know that I am getting in more veggies every day. I find that if I just make it real quick and down it before I leave for my work out, I won’t forget!

Work out

I added work outs to my morning routine a few months ago, and it has totally changed my life. I used to save it for when I got off work, and I would skip it more often than not. I would be tired from taking care of people all day and wouldn’t save any energy for myself. By starting my day off with a sweaty work out, I am more energized and know I can take on whatever the day throws at me.

Get cleaned up

I never had skin issues until I graduated college. It’s probably hormonal, and I have been trying out different products to find what work for me. The Image Stem Cell line has helped me so much lately, and I make sure to wash and moisturize my face every single morning.

Take my vitamins

I took the quiz on takecareof.com to see what vitamins my body needs and have them shipped to my house every month. I always take these after I eat, and I have noticed a big difference with my energy and overall feeling.

Eat a protein packed breakfast

Whether it is a smoothie or oats, I ALWAYS eat breakfast. I am not one of those people who can go without fuel in the morning, and I know I never will be. I’ll get dizzy, tired, and develop a migraine, and that is not worth it. I either have my breakfast smoothie like when I go to Orange Theory or do yoga at home or I have my oats when I go straight to work after the gym. You have to try out a few things before you find what keeps you full and fuels you best.

Write in my Start Today journal

I always have my Start Today journal in my work bag because I am usually at work by the time I can fill it out. It only takes five minutes to fill out so there really is no excuse for me to not do it. I write five things I am grateful for, ten dreams I want to happen as if they already happened, and the goal I am going to tackle first. This is a true mood changer, and it puts me in a great place every morning. Coming from a place of gratitude is a great way to start the day. I find that I have more patience and positivity going into the morning which is vital as a nurse.

There you go! Those are the things that make my morning great, and I try not to miss a single one of them. I hope you found something helpful. 🙂

What do you include in your morning routine?

Make my bed, unload the dishwasher, meal prep for the day, hit the gym, and tidy my apartment … getting my to do items completed = a clear mind for getting my work done!

Yes yes yes! I am 100% with you. Especially since you work from home, it probably helps so much getting those things done first so you don’t feel like you should be doing them while you’re trying to work. Awesome!
