Weekly Recap: Back to work, early morning work outs, and a new cookbook!

Good morning, everybody! I hope your weekend was relaxing and you’re having a great Monday so far! Let’s get into this recap of my week..

Monday

I don’t have to go back to work until Wednesday because I wasn’t sure when we would be coming home from Tennessee. Even though we came home on Saturday, I am sure glad I took those extra days off. Anybody else feel like they need a vacation after their vacation? Me too.

Prepping food for the week

I got up around 6AM to start my day. For the last few weeks, I have been prepping all the ingredients for our Hello Fresh meals on the weekend so that when we come home from work, it’s even easier to make our meals. It’s basically just cutting up a ton of veggies, but it saves so much time in the long run!

I had my coffee, ate a verb bar, and took my Care Of vitamins while watching The Office. I have been loving my Care Of vitamins because they are tailored to what my body needs and are dropped off at my door every month so I don’t miss a day. Kyle and I then headed to OTF for a 10:30 class.

Chicken and veggie fajitas

Lunch was chicken fajitas from Hello Fresh! Super delicious. We sauteed chicken, onions, and peppers and wrapped them in tortillas. Kyle’s had cheese on his, but they were just as good without! Plus so quick to make since I already chopped all the veggies.

Iced coffee from Starbucks

Kyle had to go into work to change his full time status to part time since he is in school this semester. I drank my cold brew with almond milk while I awkwardly waited in the waiting room.

Once we got home, Kyle worked on his school work while I planned out my week. Then I ordered wings for dinner. Some things never change 🙂

Tuesday

We looked at a few gyms around our area yesterday, but they are all just so expensive. I don’t need anything fancy and don’t want to pay almost $100 a month. There is a Planet Fitness in my home town/the city where I work so I decided to start going in the morning before work and shower/get ready there. I went there today for a free first work out to check it out before I signed up.

I loved it!! They had everything (and more) that I needed and a great locker room to get ready for work in. I can’t believe it’s only $10/month. I was also surprised how clean they keep it. I’m super excited to do this!

Eye doctor

After my work out, I stopped by my eye doctor to pick up my new glasses. I’m excited to see if these help my eye strain!

Black bean enchiladas

I made black bean enchiladas for lunch, and they are definitely one of our new favorites from Hello Fresh.

I spent the rest of the day cleaning, planning, writing, and relaxing!

Olive Garden sounded SO GOOD so we ordered food for pick up and had a date night on the couch.

Netflix at night

We picked up watching House of Cards again, and I forgot how good it was.

Wednesday

I set out my stuff the night before so that it’s so much easier to get out of bed and head to the gym in the mornings. I had a 5AM OTF class, and it was awesome!

Kyle made my smoothie while I showered, and I had it while I did my Start Today journal. Can’t forget my vitamins 🙂

Turkey sticks and veggies for lunch

So not to sound like a spoiled brat, but the lunch that they brought today involved super pink meat. I just couldn’t. They said it was smoked so that’s why it look like that, and while I’m sure that’s true, I couldn’t separate my mind from the bright pink color of uncooked meat. Thankfully I still had all my snacks and ate those instead!

Burger, veggies, and potatoes

Kyle made amazing burgers for dinner with sauteed peppers and onions and baked potatoes. (Another Hello Fresh meal)

We watched more House of Cards before heading to bed!

Thursday

*I had all my stuff set out to go to the gym this morning but when my alarm went off, my head was killing me. I took my medicine and went back to bed. I was super bummed to miss my first early morning gym session.

Oats Over Night

I had made Oats Over Night last night to have after my work out, but I went ahead and had it for breakfast because I’m not sure how good they would be tomorrow. This was the blueberry cobbler flavor, and it was so good! Definitely my new favorite. It had real blueberries in it.

Leftover wings and veggies for lunch

I was in radiation today so I had my leftover wings with veggies for lunch.

We made homemade pizzas and salad for dinner.

Then watched more House of Cards, and I had a key lime coconutmilk yogurt for dessert. I love these yogurts for a late night snack. Then it was off to bed!

Friday

My first Planet Fitness pre work work out was a success! It wasn’t busy, I got a great lift and cardio session in, and it was super easy to shower and get ready there! Our Enso rings got in a few days ago, and I have loved working out in them. It doesn’t scrape on the weights when I hold them like my real ring does.

I had my oats over night once I got to work. I figured out that I was supposed to be in radiation again today so I headed over there (it’s just across the street) after I ate. I didn’t bring my lunch today so one of the girls picked up our personal pan pizzas from Pizza King. It was amazing!

Cheers to it being FRIDAY! Even though it was a short week, I was exhausted after getting used to not working 😀

Kyle and I went on a date to Murphy’s Pubhouse for dinner. We love this place, and it was nice to get out of the house and just be together.

We shared a pizza, pretzels, and wings. We were very happy and full when we left 🙂

Hot fudge sundae and netflix

But not too full to get sundaes and a pup cup from DQ before coming home to watch House of Cards and promptly fall asleep!

Saturday

Orange Theory fitness 7AM class

We headed out into the rain for a 7AM Orange Theory class.

Protein drink and greens

I am so glad we went because I literally did nothing for the rest of they day. For some reason, I was super tired, crampy, and had a headache for most of the day. I drank my greens and a protein shake before laying down.

Kyle picked up dinner from Jagger’s while I slept. I felt a lot better after I woke up. We cleaned up a bit and then headed to bed shortly after. Such an exciting day!

Sunday

Today was not very exciting either. I was just getting all the things done that I didn’t do yesterday. I washed the sheets, did laundry, vacuumed, wrote a few posts, prepped all our food for the week, and submitted two claims for insurance. So fun! We had fajitas for a late lunch/dinner, and Kyle worked on school for most of the day.
