Happy Monday everybody! I am so thankful that I also took today off after our weekend trip to Tennessee so that I could just get things unpacked, cleaned up, grocery shop, etc. I love getting all of those things done. I feel so accomplished… for a day 😉
On Friday, Kyle and I got up early and drove the 7 hour trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee for my cousin’s wedding. Him and his wife are both fighter pilots in the military and are truly two of the most amazing people I have ever met. It was so wonderful being able to witness them promise forever to each other!

The only part that made it even better was having my forever wedding date by my side. There wedding was located at Howe Farms, and it was so incredibly beautiful. The ceremony took place outside on a big hill overlooking the whole farmland as pictured in the above photo 🙂 Since they are both in the military, they had a saber arch performed by some of their military friends. It was so extremely special and seeing Hunter in his dress blues made me so proud!

I wish I had taken a better photo of the barn where the reception took place, but you can see it a little in the background! There were big drapes hanging from the ceiling with tons of lights and chandeliers. It was the perfect balance of rustic and classy. There was a balcony where they entered from and huge barns doors where they sat in front of. So perfect! The barn was just down the hill from the ceremony, and they had golf carts driving us back and forth so we didn’t have the battle the hill.
Another highlight of the day that I can’t fail to mention is how my cousin honored our Grandpa. Our Grandpa was a chaplain in the military and received an award for which he was never properly given a ceremony for because he was too busy performing his duties as a chaplain and father. After the ceremony, my cousin had all of his military friends stand behind him as he presented my Grandpa with his award in front of all of us. It was so special, and I am tearing up again just thinking about it! He is such a special man and never asks for anything in return for the countless things he does for others. I am so happy that Hunter was able to honor him this way.

My mom (the beauty on our right) and her two sisters with my Grandpa after he received his award. So proud!

On a less serious and sappy note, the food was AMAZING!! They had chips, salsa, guac, and queso for everybody to have while they took their photos. (You know I was all over that). Then dinner was tacos! I made both a chicken and steak one. Both had grilled veggies, pico, queso, guac, and lettuce on them. They were seriously amazing. Kyle and I both decided we had to up our taco nights at home after this meal.

My mom found us an Airbnb close to the venue for the whole weekend, and it was GORGEOUS. It was big enough for my parents, me and Kyle, my cousin, and both of my brothers and sister in laws and niece and nephew. The kitchen was so spacious that we spent so much time there just hanging out, drinking coffee, cooking, and talking while we were together. Both living rooms made perfect areas for hanging out while we played board games with my niece and watched soccer all morning on Saturday. We ate breakfast all together both mornings at that huge dinner table- that brought me back to every night as a child when both of my brothers still lived at home. All of the rooms were upstairs. There was a full bathroom downstairs and two full bathrooms upstairs. I was so in love with that staircase. If you’re in the area of Chattanooga and need an Airbnb for literally your whole family, let me know and I’ll give you the details!
On Sunday morning, we woke up and had breakfast all together before going our own ways. Both of my brothers and sister in laws had about a two hour drive, but Kyle and I and my parents had a seven hour drive ahead of us and there was major construction going on.

Perfect weekend with the best family.
Kyle and I got home around 6 on Sunday, watched some Criminal Minds, and promptly fell asleep.
This morning, Kyle woke up early to head to work and I dozed off a couple of more times before finally getting up for good.

I ate a Huma Chia Energy Gel and drank some water before heading out on a 4 mile walk with Chance.

After about 2 miles, I let Chance off his leash so he could swim for a little bit. Whenever he sees any body of water, he instantly sits as if he is begging to be let off his leash. Then he gets outs, rolls around in the grass to dry off/scratch, and then comes back to get back on his leash and continue on his walk.

I could spend hours walking around even when it’s 90 degrees out. I still love running, but our long walks really allow me to think, relax, breath, and soak in the beautiful nature around me. Look at that blue sky!

He loves the walks probably even more than I do. Little did he know, he had a bath coming when we got home.
After our walk and Chance’s bath, I got cleaned up and headed out on my errands.
I was going to go to the Social Security Office to start the process of changing my name but when I got there, there was only standing room- that’s how busy it was. No way was I spending all day there! So I walked back out and headed to the grocery store. Right before I got to Aldi, I realized I had left my wallet at home so I turned around to get it. Once I got home, I also realized I had left my paperwork to change my name at home. I am so glad I didn’t wait in that line to find out that I didn’t have my paperwork or my license! I literally forgot everything today haha Once I got my wallet, I also gathered all of the things I needed to change my name and stopped by the post office to mail them instead of going in again. I should have just done that in the first place! I’ll let you know how long it takes going through the mail in case any of you need to do it in the future 🙂

I picked up chicken nuggets and a side salad from Chick-Fil-A for a super late lunch because I was starving by then!
After eating, I changed the sheets on our bed, swept and mopped the floors, folded laundry, unpacked our clothes, and then started writing this post!

Now I am going to start fixing dinner and work some more on our thank you cards. I’ll include tips and pictures of those in one of my wedding posts too! I hope you all have an AWESOME week. I included some questions I’d love to hear your answers to below! 🙂
- What is the most special thing you have seen at a wedding?
- What is something you are looking forward to this week?
- Have you ever stayed in an Airbnb?
My grandfather walked me down to my hubby at my wedding and it’s one of my most cherished memories. Grandparents are SO special. We are going out of town this week to meet up with friends and do a live Fantasy Football draft and I’m so excited. We stayed in house and we used Home Away, which is similar to Airbnb, in Nashville, for a friend’s bachelorette party. It was cute and in a nice little neighborhood! Glad to see you back posting!!!!!!
Oh Brittany, thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement! I’m so happy to be back too! That is so incredibly special that your grandfather walked you down the aisle! I know you’ll keep that close to your heart forever. And that sounds like so much fun! I hope you have a blast. Kyle and I were joking about me making a fantasy football team because I would probably end up with all quarterbacks on accident. But it still sounds so fun to me! And that’s so good to know that Home Away exists! I’ll have to try it sometime.
