Weekly recap- sorry I’m so late!

Hey everybody! I have got to do better at organizing my time for blogging if I want to make a real go at this. Between working full time and living a life, I really let this fall behind sometimes and I hate that! I’m determined to do better. I’m going to carve out chunks of time each week just for blogging- something I should have done all along! Anyways, here’s what I did last week!

Monday started out with Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios and a banana because I forgot to freeze my bananas on Sunday for my smoothie!

And coffee of course!

Lunch was pizza, fruit, and salad.

Chance and I headed out to walk a couple of miles when I got home from work. It was in the 50s with a little wind, but the sun felt amazing!

Dinner was chicken, broccoli, and potatoes. This is one of Kyle’s all time favorite meals (which is great because it’s so easy).

Back to my smoothie on Tuesday morning!

Lunch was from chick fil a. I LOVE their kale and broccoli salad. If you haven’t tried it, go get it! I pick out the raisins, but it’s still amazing.

Chance and I walked a couple miles after work again, and he was very happy to see that the ducks are back.

Dinner was chicken Caesar salad and red lobster rolls. We got the mix from Aldi 🙂

On Wednesday, I woke up with an awful migraine. I called my manager and she told me to just come in late once I felt better. (Yes, I’m very lucky). So I took my meds and laid back down. I have been getting very discouraged lately because I have been having migraines almost every single day for the last couple of months. I’m not sure what’s going on. I’m heading back to my neurologist soon, and I’m seeing a massage therapist who specializes in migraines on Saturday. I’d love to hear any tips from you guys though!

Once I woke up and felt better, Cheerios sounded good.

Lunch was taco salad.

With a side of peanut butter mnms 🙂

Then we had our study session after work. (We’re studying for our Oncology certifications.)

When I got home, Chance and I headed out to walk a few miles 🙂 The sun has been good for my soul.

Dinner was calzones and salad!

I had my smoothie again on Thursday morning.

Lunch was a turkey wrap, salad, and salt and vinegar chips.

Then after work, I picked up Kyle and we headed straight to pre marital counseling. It was another great session 🙂

Our appointment was earlier today so we decided to actually go to Chili’s to eat instead of picking up fast food.

Caesar salads and chips and salsa to start.

Followed by one of my FAVORITE meals. Their honey, chipotle chicken tenders are the best.

Then we headed home to take Chance out and go to bed.

Breakfast smoothie on Friday!

For some reason, I was STARVING before lunch and ate a ton. It was awesome. Olive Garden breadsticks and salads are amazing.

I took Chance for a long walk when I got home and then waited for Kyle to get home so we could head to Books & Brew to meet some of his work friends!

Listen, I’m really bad at games but I somehow ended up winning this one. I had no idea what I was doing the whole time, but it was fun!! It was called Evolution, and the point of the game was to make species with different traits and keep them alive. Haha sounds simple but I struggled the entire time. But we had such a good time, and I love hanging out with people that Kyle works with. We both got sandwiches, and Kyle loved trying a few different beers they had. It was a good night 🙂

On Saturday, I woke up planning to head out on my long run. I stood up and instantly felt super dizzy and nauseous and the feeling would not go away. I got to the couch and laid back down. I tried to eat but couldn’t get anything down. I ended up falling asleep and didn’t wake up for a few more hours. Not sure what was going on, but I felt better after I slept it off!

Kyle heated up my leftovers and that helped too.

Apparently Chance was feeling what I was feeling too.

I wanted to get out of the house for a little bit so we headed to Lowe’s for Kyle to pick up some things he needed. I love this picture because it looks like Chance is helping him pick it out.

Then it started to snow when we got home… WHAT THE HECK

My dinner consisted of a lunchable, cucumbers, and pickles. I did a little wedding planning and headed to bed.

I woke up on Sunday feeling a TON better so I ate my Cheerios and headed out with Chance.

We ran 9 miles through the ice and snow. We slipped through half of it, but we still ran! I listened to some episodes of Crime Junkies while I ran (and while I walked this week) 🙂

Then we headed to Anderson to meet my parents for lunch. I started with a big salad.

Then chicken strips and fries. I was ravenous.

After dinner, Kyle and I went to my Aunt and Uncle’s house to ask my Uncle to officiate our wedding. I was so excited to ask him, and he seemed so excited to do it! Makes me so happy.

Once we got home, we took Chance out for a bit and relaxed.

Then we picked up Chuy’s for dinner. I had a grilled shrimp taco with chips and dip 🙂 We watched a few episodes of criminal minds before heading to bed.

I hope you are all having a great week!

Questions for you! Answer below 🙂

1. Do you have any migraine prevention tips?

2. Is there anything specific you’d like me to write about? I’m trying to be more intentional in my blogging!

3. Did you get to enjoy the spring weather last week??

I really enjoy your blog each week. I have two blogs that I have been reading for years and yours has been a great addition! Have you had an MRI of your brain? Did it show anything? I don’t have any tips for migraines specifically but I had a list of weird symptoms and long story short I ended up asking for an MRI and found out I have a chiari malformation. I hope you find some answers and I hope the massage therapy helps too. Keep blogging, you’re doing great, I don’t always comment but I always read your posts and it’s always fun to see your wedding planning adventures and tasty lunches!

Oh, you are so sweet!! Thank you so much! That means a lot.
I have not had an MRI. I had a CT a long time ago and everything appeared normal! But that sounds super intense. What did they have to do?!

It’s typically not a big deal, if it’s monitored. Some people have more problems from what I’ve read, but I’ve been blessed to only experience minor symptoms. I see a neurosurgeon every 6 months. Good luck to you with your issues, I hope you find some relief!

I love that your blog is so you, Miriam. I hope that you keep blogging at least once a week because I like your day in the life posts. I am sorry that your migraines are causing so many issues … I hope that the neurologist can give you some ideas for coping with it. I think it would be awesome if you possibly had different topics for the first, second, third, and fourth week of the month paired with your weekly eats recaps I think you’d be on to something there. For the second week … as that’s what is coming up next maybe you could post a wedding planning recap and then the third week you could recap the workouts you’ve been enjoy and the fourth … travel or places you’ve been or places you’d like to go …. thoughts??

    • Miriam Leigh says:

Aww thank you so much!! That’s very encouraging. And those are great ideas!! I will definitely start bringing those ideas into my planning! Thank you!
