Hey everybody! I’m coming at you after two weeks of being MIA. So two weeks ago, I had two great runs over the weekend and then woke up on Monday to a super sore right ankle/foot. By the time I got home from work, Kyle had to carry me to the couch and I was in tears. As dramatic as it sounds, it was just how it was haha but after two weeks of taking it easy, I’m much better! Thankfully, almost all of Kyle’s friends are athletic trainers and one worked on it and said it was my peroneal tendons. He told me to keep wearing my brace when I run, get new arch insoles, and work on strengthening those muscles so it doesn’t happen again after long back to back runs.
So after that long explanation, here’s my recap for the last week!
Monday morning started with my smoothie.
We were both obviously both ready for Monday morning! Coffee with a puppy eyeing me.
Lunch was pasta with shrimp, chicken, and green beans.
Lunch was chicken, broccoli, and potatoes. This time, I sautéed the chicken and broccoli on the stove instead of baking it and it was yummy too! I still baked the potatoes.
Breakfast smoothie on Tuesday!
Nachos with cheese, lettuce, chicken, guac, and tomatoes for lunch!
After work, I headed straight to the gym for Gluteus MAXout. This class literally kicked my butt, but I LOVED it! My legs burned for days.
Kyle and I both have these bags. They’re small enough to not take up a ton of room, but they hold a change of clothes, shoes, toiletries, and have a bunch of small compartments for everything else.
Dinner was pepperoni calzones and sunflower crunch salad.
On Wednesday, I was up even earlier because I had a 7AM meeting. Breakfast smoothie to start!
My meeting was in the actual hospital (my job is at a center in a separate building). I ventured out of the meeting room to get coffee and definitely got lost. Don’t worry, I got the coffee.
Lunch was from PF Chang’s! It was amazing. Lettuce wraps, veggies, chicken, YUM.
Then we had study group after work. It’s really been helping me feel more confident and educate better, for sure! I’m still not planning on taking my oncology certification test anytime soon though…
Once I got home, Chance and I headed out for a 2 mile walk! It was windy but super nice! I’m so thankful for little glimpses of spring. We’re so close! I like to walk with this leash to work on heeling. It has a handle close to Chance which works perfectly to keep him close to me when needed, otherwise, it’s hand free and made super well.
Kyle then picked up Jimmie John’s for dinner. I had an unwich with turkey, tomatoes, pickles, avocados, and mustard with salt and vinegar chips. It was delish!
Breakfast smoothie on Thursday 🙂
Lunch was from Lee’s Chicken. I had chicken fingers, green beans, and a biscuit. Yes, I wanted to nap hardcore after lunch!
We headed out for another walk!
We did a couple of miles before heading home. The skies were so blue.
And the sunshine felt AMAZING!
Friday morning smoothie!
Followed promptly by coffee.
Lunch was from one of my favorite places- Indy Fresh! Lots of veggies, chicken, and salad.
Followed by a mini Gigi’s cupcake 🧁
Dinner was pasta and southwestern salad! Time to carb load before my long Saturday morning run! We spent the evening watching Criminal Minds before heading to bed!
I had a whole wheat English muffin with raspberry jam and an apple before my run.
Chance and I did 9 miles! I felt great! I stripped off my hat and gloves at mile 7 because it got a little toasty. We like this leash for running because it holds my stuff, is hands free, has a handle for when needed, and gives him a little more room to roam.
Kyle made nachos for us to share when I got home!
Then we headed out to meet our friends to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! We went on the Pickled Pedaler. The Pickled Pedaler is basically a huge group bike that you can play music and drink and eat on. It’s like a party bike haha but it’s also fully motorized and someone else is driving it for us so the bike part is just for fun. The idea was great, but it was FREEZING. But it’s definitely something I would try again! I’m not a big drinker so I had one Truly and had them stop at the Starbucks on the circle in downtown Indy for a coconut milk chai tea latte 😂
Please excuse the green hue of the photo (I guess it’s appropriate), but once we were done on the bike, we went to Iaria’s Italian Restaurant for dinner!
Kyle and I started with a Caesar salad.
And then shared a pepperoni pizza. (Thin crust for lyfe).
Then Kyle and I headed home while everybody else kept going for a while. We didn’t want Chance in his kennel for any longer, and we were just ready to settle in for the night! One episode of criminal minds, and we were zonked.
On Sunday morning, I woke up to this cuddly little guy.
Then Kyle and I headed out to get donuts for us and his buddy that stayed with us!
Sunday feels.
Then we went to Men’s Wearhouse to pick out the guys’ suits for the wedding! I can’t wait to see them in them!
Then we headed to Buffalo Wild Wings to meet one of our other friends for lunch. I started with a Caesar salad.
Then had a small order of the boneless honey bbq wings!
After lunch, Kyle’s friends headed back home and we went on our errands! It was so good to see them again. It doesn’t happen enough. They’re the best guys.
Kyle and I went grocery shopping and mailed out a few more invites that got lost in the mail the first time around (oops). Then headed home to relax for the evening!
I hope you all have a great week!!
Tell me something you’re doing today!
Did you do anything festive for St. Patrick’s Day?!
Who is ready for SPRING?!
So glad that you’re back to blogging. I am sure everyone needs a break from time to time though. This week has been CRAZY with work and I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t go back to sleep so I had to skip my spin class this AM … fortunately I was able to squeeze my workout in midday during a break from work. I am hoping that the rest of the week gets better. Any wedding planning updates besides the guys suits??
Ugg I hate it when my sleep schedule gets messed up! Sorry girl. It sure does mess with your whole day. Glad you were able to adapt though! And yes! We’ve got all of the big things done and are now just picking out little things and are almost done with that! We’re just waiting for our RSVPs to come in and for June 29th to get here.. I’m planning a big wedding planning post soon! It’s been a blast.
