Happy Sunday, everybody! I am currently sitting on the couch with Kyle watching the Colts’ game. Chance is laying at our feet. It’s been SUPER windy here today, and it is finally starting to rain. It has been threatening it all day. I could barely get my car door open when we went out to get Chuy’s for lunch because the wind was so strong! (Grilled shrimp tacos of course). Anyways, here comes the recap…
Monday: Monday morning started off with my breakfast smoothie and my morning yoga session. I then headed to work for more orientation.
Once again, I’m loving wearing normal clothes while I can! 🙂
I went to Subway for lunch and had a grilled chicken salad. It had lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, grilled chicken, and vinaigrette dressing. I love the way they chop their salads! It’s the best.
We picked up sushi and tea from Earth Fare for dinner because we were in a hurry! We had our first training class for Chance tonight. This tea was so yummy, but I did not look at how much sugar was in it… yikes! Oh well! We’ve got to indulge every once in a while, I just don’t usually do it with my drinks. haha!
We are taking Chance to First Friends K9 in Fishers for classes. I am SO EXCITED! Bruce is so knowledgeable about dog training and has helped so many people. Chance is so smart but has major socialization issues. It’s going to be so good to have him around other dogs and people every week with people who know what they’re doing. This week was a 2 1/2 hour lesson for the owners only, and I learned so much. I am so excited for next week! I highly recommend them already. I’ll continue to update in my recap posts. 🙂
Once we got home, it was late. We took Chance out and then headed to bed!
Tuesday: After my morning yoga session, I was just not feeling my smoothie this morning for some reason so I switched it up.
My sandwich had salami, chicken breast, muenster cheese, lettuce, and mustard on whole wheat bread with strawberries on the side! It was so good. Random, I know!
Once at work, it was coffee time. I definitely noticed that I was dragging because I usually have a cup of cold coffee in my smoothie every morning!
Lunch was grilled beef, chicken, shrimp, broccoli, cauliflower, and peppers with pineapple on the side!
After work, Chance and I headed out for a 3 mile walk. We are both loving the 50 degree weather! Our long walks are truly my favorite.
I listened to Girls Night with Stephanie May Wilson while we walked. This podcast episode was an interview with Jessica Rasdall. Jessica has a VERY hard and powerful story. This is episode #41. I highly recommend it!
I have been looking for some wheat and gluten free crackers, and I love these! I snacked on these and salami while I waited to make dinner. Kyle doesn’t get home from work until a couple of hours after I do, and I was too hungry!
Dinner was from Blue Apron! This meal was Spicy Shrimp Pasta with Garlic and Broccoli. It was super yummy and satisfying! We relaxed for the night and headed to bed shortly after dinner. 🙂
Wednesday: My morning went the same way as Tuesday morning!
The only difference is that I had an orange instead of strawberries. Crazy, I know! 🙂
I am loving all of the sweater weather!
I am also loving the french press I got from fabfitfun! It’s super cute and the coffee it makes is delicious. I am seriously obsessed with FFF now! I wish it hadn’t taken me so long to jump on board. It’s so much fun. Also, side note. The bag that I received is awesome, but it had a little snag in one of the straps. It probably would have been fine, but I let them know anyways. They have already sent me a new one and were so apologetic. Their costumer service was amazing, and there were no questions asked. I love that so much! Anyways…
After work, I stopped by Rose’s (a discount store in my hometown) to pick up a few things for our Halloween costumes and saw this hoodie. I LOVE IT! For those of you who don’t know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Just a friendly reminder from your favorite oncology nurse. Ladies, it is SO important to stay up to date on your visits with you OBGYN and your monthly breast exams. They truly can save your life. No one else is going to do it for you. You have to take care of yourself first before you can take care of anybody else. You are so important and so worth it! Ok… end of rant 🙂
Once I got home, I cleaned the house and made dinner.
Here was my afternoon snack! So good!
Dinner was baked salmon and broccoli. I placed the salmon and broccoli on foil on a baking sheet and added sunflower oil, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. I baked it at 450 degrees for about 20 minutes. So easy and yummy! After binge watching Gotham, it was bedtime!
Thursday: After my yoga session, I was back to my smoothies 🙂
I felt much better after having it again!
Just a little reminder from my Thoughtful Thursday #2 🙂
That sky called for me to stop driving and take a picture FOR SURE! 🙂
I had to take another medication test today, and I passed! Woo!
Lunch was a cobb salad with pretzels and hummus.
Once I got home, Kyle and I headed to the gym. Since he is running with me, I told him I would start weight training with him. He is so knowledgeable about it so I am excited! I am also excited to see how it helps my endurance.
We started with a mile on the elliptical and then hit the weights.
I listened to an episode of The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey Podcast while we worked out. 🙂 Kyle took me through a number of different exercises. He would do them (obviously with different weights), and then I would do them. I am excited to keep going! Kyle also signed up to work with a personal trainer, and I am so excited for him!
He has been talking about doing it, and I am so glad he took the step. Super excited for him! Being off nights has helped him soooooo much in so many ways. It’s crazy!
While Kyle was setting up his sessions, I worked on these two machines. I have a lot of troubles with my hips, so I have been working really hard to strengthen them more. After only one night, these helped so much! I highly recommend them! I am excited to keep using them.
One our way home, we picked up wings for dinner! I got a small order of Honey BBQ and it was MORE than enough.
After eating and cleaning up, I read one of the devotions in my She Reads Truth bible and promptly fell asleep. 🙂
Friday: After yoga, I had my smoothie and then headed to work.
Our unit was super busy today so I got to skip orientation and have patients! Yay!
Lunch was chicken nuggets and fruit salad from Chick Fil A.
Dinner was another sandwich and orange slices. Then Chance and I headed out for a walk!
Once we got backed, we relaxed, and I used a facemask. I love the Masked Beauty Red Clay Mask because it helps tone my face and calm down any break outs. You can buy it here! 🙂 I highly recommend it. I also like the charcoal one!
Saturday: We woke up and headed out for a walk.
I LOVE the trees this time of year. So beautiful!
Kyle, Chance, and I then headed to Kyle’s brother’s house to have lunch with his brother, parents, and grandparents. I had a lime shrimp salad from a little restaurant in Broad Ripple. It was delicious! His mom, grandma, and I then went shopping for a while before Kyle and I had to head out.
We headed home to get our costumes on and headed to a costume party!
Harley Quinn, The Joker, and Batdog!
My boys are VERY good sports! We had a blast at the party.
I hope you all have a relaxing Sunday night and a great week!
Questions for you! Please respond below 🙂
- What is your Halloween costume?
- I am looking for a healthy, gluten free bread. Any suggestions?
- Have you been through any dog classes with your pup?
Wow, girl! You are busy busy!! Love all this food- looks delicious. And your costumes are ah-may-zing!!! Nailed it
This week looked a lot busier than I usually am! Haha! And aww thank you so much girl! It was a blast dressing up!
What a busy week … sounds like you’ve been loving it though and it is totally manageable for you. I really prefer to keep myself limited to 2-3 activities a week because my anxiety needs the break at night to be alone in the quiet.
– No Halloween Costume for me this year. I will be handing out Candy at the front door in my PJs so I will just be a “Lazy Adult”! Haha!
– I am not a huge fan of gluten free bread so I will usually just make lettuce wraps or sometimes I will use the deli meat as the “Bread” of the sandwich and roll the goods inside the meat. If you find a gluten free bread that “rocks your world” please share. Also, have you ever tried vegan eggs? Someone just asked me to try it BUT I am a tad SCARED of the flavor.
– No Dog = No Doggie classes! HAHA! BUT I just volunteered to host a Tupperware party for a friend of mine and that is going to keep me busy. Kind of excited about the party as it is a Facebook Hosted Party! <3
Girl you sound busy as well!! I totally get what you’re saying though. Alone time is so important for our mental health. I definitely will share if I find one I like!! I have not tried vegan eggs, but I will give them a shot and let you know!! And no dog would make dog classes a little awkward 😂 hahaha but that’s awesome!! So fun! I hope it goes well!
