Fall, here we come! Walks, runs, and yummy eats!

Hey everyone! I hope you’re having an awesome Sunday! I worked a lot this week but still did a couple of long walks, cooked some yummy meals, and got back into running.

Monday: Kyle and I started out our mornings with coffee and a walk with Chance.

Lunch was catered in from a BBQ place. I had a little bit of brisquit, ribs, and a chicken breast. The chicken was my favorite! I tried to cole slaw but it had been out for too long… bleh! I don’t like to eat that much meat very often, but I was hunnnngry

Chance and I then headed out for a rainy three mile walk. I’ve had a lot of people ask me about this leash so I thought I’d share the link here. We have gone through a lot of leashes and this one works the best for me. I’ve had it for over a year, and it’s still my favorite. It wraps around my waist, has strong latches, and has a handle close to his collar just in case I need to grab him. It’s the best!

Once we got home, we cleaned up and I started making dinner.

This meal was awesome! We haven’t had a bad meal from Blue Apron yet, but this is one of our favorites now. I don’t like a lot of spice, but I loved this!

We relaxed for the rest of the night and headed to bed early.

Tuesday:

Lunch was a big salad with blue cheese dressing and half of a turkey sandwich.

I was super tired when I came home. Kyle had taken Chance out earlier in the day to swim and run because he knew I didn’t sleep well and wouldn’t be up for much. We got Chuy’s for dinner and relaxed for the rest of the night.

I also came home to these amazing flowers! How sweet is he? He knew I was so excited for fall so he picked the “falliest” ones he could find.

Wednesday:

Literally the only picture I took today was the salad I had for lunch. My morning was my usual routine, and I have no idea what we had for dinner. Oops!

Thursday:

After my usual morning and work routine, Kyle and I went on a run!

It was PERFECT running weather out and it felt so good to get back into it. This was Kyle’s first run in decent weather. All of our other runs have been in the 90 degree heat with 90% humidity so he was much happier!

Kyle grilled steaks and I made a salad with tomatoes, olive oil, and vinegar and sweet potato fries. I’m sure a lot of people would love those fries but I’m not a fan of sweet potatoes so there’s that. This was also from Blue Apron, but Kyle grilled the steaks instead of frying them. The salad was my favorite part!

We tried watching American Horror Story, but I JUST CAN’T DO IT. It’s far too creepy and sexual for us. I have so many friends who love it so no judgment here. I just can’t watch it myself.

Friday:

I wanted to switch things up a little bit this morning so I had some strawberries and Kashi Blueberry Cluster cereal with my coffee for breakfast. It didn’t keep me as full for as long as my smoothie does but it was good to switch it up! I was right back to my smoothies though.

Since Kyle headed to work, I had more time to pick up some things and finish projects before heading to work. Kyle loves these protein balls to take to work. They’re super yummy, easy, and cheap. I got the recipe from Simply Taralynn- one of my all time favorite blogs! Here is the link 🙂 I used half peanut butter and half almond butter in this batch. Still so yummy!

Look how beautiful the sunrise was on my way to work!

A sweet patient brought us in donuts. I’m not usually a fan of pumpkin flavored things, but the pumpkin flavored donut holes from Dunkin Donuts are a game changer for sure!

Lunch was Jimmie John’s! Yummmm

When I got home, Chance and I went on a two and a half mile walk. I wore long pants, a long sleeve shirt, and a hat. I love fall!!

Our last Blue Apron meal of the week was delicious!!

Saturday: We woke up to 45 degree weather! It was amazing!

Chance and I headed out for a walk. He loves this weather even more than I do.

I had a protein ball and strawberries with my Chai latte.

I then met Jaycey and Lexie for homecoming at AU. It was so fun to go back to campus. The weather was beautiful, we got tons of caramel apples for home, and showed Jaycey’s little sister around the campus. She’s thinking about going to AU for psychology in a few years.

How cute is this message on the wall of one of the buildings on campus? If I could say one thing to every girl out there, this would be it. YOU MATTER.

After the street fair, we headed to our FAVORITE place. La Cha! We went here multiple times a week during our senior year of nursing school. We definitely funded a lot of their upgrades haha! It didn’t disappoint. I had the fiesta salad which was lettuce with steak, chicken, shrimp, pico, avocado, and shredded cheese. Yum!

After I went home, I cleaned up a little, took Chance out, and then headed to Texas Roadhouse to have dinner and catch up time with Shaylynn. It was so good and much needed.

I picked up Yats for Kyle to have after work and headed to bed early.

Sunday:

Today was a lazy day. Kyle and I made cinnamon rolls after we took Chance for a walk and relaxed with some coffee. We watched The Case For Christ. If you haven’t seen it, get on netflix and watch it ASAP! It is so good. I started crying at the beginning and didn’t stop until well after the end (this was my second time watching it). It’s a great mix of faith and facts.

We’re now heading to Kyle’s parents house to grill out! I’m bring oriental coleslaw. I’ll share the recipe later!

I hope you all have a great week!

Walking along the lake sounds like a dream! I have heard so many good things about War Room- that will have to be next on our list. And thank you so much! I have a blast writing my recap posts, and I am glad somebody enjoys them!
