Random Eats, “5K”, and a Fun Filled Weekend

Good morning everybody! I’m coming at you a day late, but hey, that’s life. I dropped my phone at the end of last week and shattered my camera on the inside. Oops! Kyle and I are going to be looking at new phones this week, but until then, we’ll be going without pictures for a little while. Bummer! Let’s start where we left of last week…

Sunday afternoon: After I wrote my last recap post, I headed out to run some errands. I picked out some new scrubs because I can wear whatever colors I want at my new job! I am so excited for that. Then I headed to Aldi and Meijer to pick up some groceries.


I picked up ALL of this from Aldi for $60. All of those groceries will last me about two weeks. Have I mentioned how much I Aldi? 😀


I then headed to Meijer to pick up the things that Aldi didn’t have. I take Magnesium to help prevent migraines because it’s been proven to decrease the amount of attacks migraine sufferers have. I also picked up protein powder for my smoothies, two new face masks to try, and beef and veggie kabobs for dinner.


For dinner, we baked beef and veggies kabobs and potatoes. I seasoned the kabobs and potatoes with a little olive oil and italian seasoning. I cut the red potatoes in thin slices and baked both the potatoes and kabobs at 400 degrees for about 20-25 minutes. Yum!

We then headed out for a long walk because it was so nice outside!

Monday: I started off Monday on the wrong side of the bed. I woke up super late and had to rush outside to take Chance out and then had my smoothie on the road. I HATE starting a morning off like this, but I tried to change my mindset and think positive. It helped that it was so pretty outside!

Lunch was a salad with grilled chicken, a piece of a baguette, and two pickles.

It rained off and on all day today, but Chance and I fit in a 2 mile walk in between downpours. I then did a butt/hip work out. I am still seeing a huge difference in the pain in my hip ever since I started working on strengthening it.

For dinner, I had chips and salsa and cantaloupe. Random, I know.

After my walk and workout, I put on a charcoal face mask. It really drew out the impurities in my skin, and my skin felt great afterwards!

Tuesday: I woke up on time today! I had my smoothie and then headed out to walk a mile with Chance.


At work, they brought us Pizza King so I mainly had salad with veggie pizza on the side. I love Pizza King for a lot of reasons, but I really love that the crust is super thin. It doesn’t make me feel so bloated afterwards like most pizza does.

Another weird and stormy day. Chance and I walked a few miles that night.

I did a yoga session from the TIU app after our walk. How funny does Chance look behind me? He loves my yoga mat.


Dinner was random again! So yummy though. I love all of the different foods because I don’t get tired of them this way!

Wednesday: Every day this week, I did a mini yoga session every morning. It made the world of difference. I highly recommend it!


I then took Chance for a one mile walk and had my smoothie.

This is also the day that I dropped my phone so now we’re going to be going without pictures. What a rough life 😀

So I wasn’t prepared for life without my camera so I have no idea what I had for lunch. I know that for dinner I had baked chicken with mushrooms from Texas Roadhouse. I had dinner with one of my best friends from high school. It’s so great to catch up. She is working at a mental health inpatient center for adolescents. I love hearing about her work because it truly takes someone SO SPECIAL to help those kids. She’s amazing

When I got home, Chance and I went for a long walk and then I did an arm workout from TIU. It BURNED.

Thursday: Today was full of running errands. I went to the dermatologist, got my nails done, trimmed my hair, picked up my license from the BMV, and went to the dentist. Busy day but I felt super accomplished! I’m glad I got all of my appointments done before I started my new job. I then had bible study that night. We have been meeting at this little coffee shop, and I got a peach smoothie. It was delicious! It has been amazing meeting with these women every week.

Friday: I had my smoothie and headed to work for my last day! My coworkers brought in a ton of food and gifts for me. I’m going to miss them so much! When I got home, I hurried and got ready and then headed to dinner with Kyle and one of our best friends and his new girlfriend! We went to Olive Garden, and I had a big salad and their chicken gnocchi soup. Yum!

Saturday: Today is our 5K! Or at least, it was supposed to be… Kyle and I got up early, had breakfast, and we’re all ready for our run! Then it got rained out… haha bummer! We decided to head to the gym instead. I walked on the stair climber for 30 minutes and the treadmill at an incline for 20 minutes. We then headed to the colts game at 4:30! It was a good day despite the whole no 5K thing.

Sunday: Kyle and I went to church and then met Jaycey for lunch at Chuy’s. I had the grilled shrimp tacos, of course. Kyle and I spent the rest of the day relaxing and taking Chance on a walk. We then had Jimmie Johns for dinner.

I felt a little off this week just because we were busier than usual, and I was preparing to start my new job. Sometimes that happens, and it’s so important to stay motivated and positive. It’s okay to not always have it all together. I rarely do! 🙂

I hope everyone has an awesome week! I’m planning on fitting in a lot of time outside since fall will be here before we know it!
