My Skin Care Routine :)

One of my most troubling routines is the one I have for my face. Every product I’ve tried would either make my skin super dry or super oily. My pores are huge when it comes to my t-zone and chin, and I get painful breakouts along my hairline. I’ve tried countless products and spent way to much money on products that haven’t worked for me, but I think I am finally getting somewhere good with my facial regimen. 🙂

For the last few months, I have been using the Everyday brand. I use the exfoliator, toner, and moisturizer in the mornings in the shower after my morning workout and then the cleanser, toner, and moisturizer in the evening before bed. Going back and forth between the exfoliator and cleanser have helped me balance the oiliness and dryness of my skin. I have attached the link for the cleanser here, the exfoliator here, the toner here, and the moisturizer here. I’m so sorry for all of the links! I could not find a bundle offer, and it has been more expensive in store when I managed to find them so I hope the links help!

In the past I would just use my fingers or a wash cloth to clean my face, but now I use Lil Scrubbies and they really help clean out my pores! I can literally feel and see the difference before and after I use them. I order them online here, but I am sure you can find them at Ulta or Sephora. I paid a whole $2.50 for them, and the best part is that they are made of silicone so you can wash them and reuse them over and over again.

Then for my final and FAVORITE product….. Indian Healing Clay. I had literally never heard of it before, but I stumbled upon it one day online and decided to give it a try. It works SO WELL. I really can’t recommend it enough. It literally pulls all of the gunk out of my pores, tightens my skin, and heals my scars and blemishes. Such a life saver. I use it up to a couple of times a week. It just depends on how my skin is doing that week. Once again, I order it online here. I have not been able to find this item in the stores, but it is definitely worth ordering it online! You mix the clay with equal part water and apply it to your skin. I just use my fingers but there are special spatulas you can use too. I just keep a tupperware container and teaspoon under my sink with the clay, and it works just fine. 🙂 I usually leave it on for about 20 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water. Then I use an ice cube (read about it below), toner, and moisturizer. I have reacted to different facial masks and cleansers in the past, but my skin has had no problem with this so far!

I also do a few DIY things to help my skin. Every week or so I steam my face using a preboiled pot of water and a towel. I boil water, turn the heat off, and lean over it with a towel over my head to help trap the steam in. It really helps open your pores so you can get the dirt out when you wash your face afterwards. Make sure you tone and moisturize after you cleanse or exfoliate or else it will really dry out your skin. I also use an ice cube and rub it on my face in the morning and at night until the cube is gone. It closes your pores in order to protect them from getting dirt in them.

I’ll end with just a few tips you can use anytime 🙂 Keep your hands off of your face as much as possible! Our fingers have a lot of dirt on them so touching your face just leads to more gunk in your pores. Never ever ever pick at your skin. I know pesky blackheads and zits can be so tempting but do your best to leave them alone. If I really can’t help myself, I use my comedone kit that I ordered online here. Make sure you keep them sanitized and dry, and they’ll really help with those little devils when you just absolutely have to clean them out. 🙂
